I got a call from a guy today who had just had the engine replaced in his 02 f-550. He ordered a long block and had a friend put the engine in for him. the injectors from the old engine and the turbo both had to be installed on the new engine. apparently the truck ran fine for a while and then the turbo went out BAD. he had the turbo replaced with a new one and now the truck runs terrible and is losing alot of oil out of the exhaust and it is pulling it from the crankcase. I thought it was just excess from the turbo gong out but he says the oil being lost is coming from the crankcase. i dont see how that much oil loss would happen all of a sudden. Any clues? :eek:wned:

His intercooler would be loaded with oil if it was sucking it from the CCV.

yeah that was where i thought to start too since he blew the turbo up on it, but what got me was how he is still losing oil from the crankcase?

probably NOTHING wrong with the original engine...

most likely a hung injector or something wrong with the turbo

but, when in doubt, always replace the most expensive thing first while re-using all of the most likely culprits, right? LOL

Did they replace the o rings on the injectors when they were swapped?

Ccv clogged up can cause oil to cone out of all kinds of places.
