I did a swap to a Waterman setup. So far it is great, using high speed valves, its a solid 60 psi from idle to 4.5k. It has no issues at all as far as starting goes. It was on the expensive side, however being that the Air Dogs seem to last a very short time, (atleast for me anyway) I'm hoping this runs for a good long time.
Thanks for the input, i've looked into the Waterman setup but I'm worried about longevity on a daily driver. I've read other threads where guys had some problems using them on a daily driver/street
I just find it hard to believe anyone could have issues. We run these pumps in our racing applications, where we see about double the pump rpm, on alky, which has much less lubricity then diesel. We run these upwards of 20-30k laps before rebuild, with nearly zero issues. I'll tell you what though, these are super simple pumps that don't cost much money or time to rebuild.
I've been running a belt drive aeromotive pump and regulator for the last 7yrs. Used to drive the truck on the street some and haven't had the first issue.
