How much horsepower can First gen motor mounts handle? Has anybody had issues with them? Thanks Rich

I made 680hp and havent had a problem yet. I did break one of the bolts, but that was when I was about 300 hp. Dont worry about them they will hold.

Jeremy!!!!
I've still got stock mounts in mine too.

If your gonna sled pull you're gonna want to reinforce em some how or chain the motor , I've broke 2 sets so far.

I'm suprised Ron and Jeremy havn't broke em!

Cool Im planning on using the 89 for street strip and the Suburban For a Family Hauler (it has first gen mounts) . I like the fact that they insulate well but there is a lot of movement. Rich

Just chain it on the torque side if your worried. I know the diesel has a boat load of more torque then a big block but when I had my 440 D150 I ran a chain on the driverside just to keep it from ripping the mount.
