My vp builds have done me well so far on the trucks, But I just purchased a 2007 Ram quadcab which will be taking over for daily driving duty....so my previous daily is getting an all out drag/street truck build.
Truck is a fully optioned 2001 2500 RCLB, bought it 3 years ago with 91k miles, it currently has 130k
It has gone through a few phases during those years, here are a few pics to get this started while i wait for parts to come in, and teardown to start.
The day i bought it..
this is how it normally is in the winter to make it a little more useful..
I then tossed on a road armor bumper/winch etc etc
After i destroyed the road armor and was waiting for the replacement, i swapped to a sport bumper setup(which got ran into the DAY i put it on the truck)
The truck had the factory 6speaker infinity system, which was alright, but needed much improvement, so i started to tackle that..
Went with Rockford Fosgate Power T5 6.5 components in the doors, with tweeters on the pillars, and T5 5.25 components in the rear with the tweeters in a custom plate next to the 5.25s
for the bass i went with a kicker L7 10" sub in a single ported box, powering all that is a Kicker 350.4 and a kicker 750.1 with a Kenwood deck sending the signals(currently working on double din conversion into GM centerconsole)
While the interior was apart and the dash was ripped out, i insulated the truck with fatmat, 2 layers on firewall/floor/rearcab wall/roof/doors.
decent shot of how clean the motor is in this thing after all these years
anyways, enough of the pics for now, the plan is mid tens, going to a compound setup on this truck, along with some nitrous, not sure if im going to keep the truck on 35s, or lower it and go to a more "street truck" type setup...
Im taking the motor out of the truck to freshen up the gaskets and make the general Ppump swap easier, and so i can do detailing/painting under the hood easier along with painting/detailing the motor.
planning on cam swap, most likely a 13mm pump setup from industrial, they have treated me right with my dragonfire vppump on the other truck, also going with a ported/chopped head...not sure who to let tackle that job(suggestions?)
Anywho, my trans is already a full billet Goerend, though its going to come apart for a freshen up....
Planning to start the teardown this coming weekend, so much more pics wont be to far away.
