Hey guys I need everybody's opinion again. I have a opportuinity to get a 2003 dodge 3500 drw quad cab long bed 2wd. The truck runs but the trans needs rebuild. Its nv5600. needs a little bit of bodywork but starts up and runns good. (atleast thats what i was told). The guys wants $5500for the truck. I was wanting to get and make it my tow rig. Is it worth the money for me to get? What do I need to to look for on these 3rd gens? I know about the 12v's but not these. Need opinions please so I can tell the guys weather I want it or not. thank you everyone

Trans and new clutch will cost you about 4 grand. Offer him 4 and see if he bites! I hope you have mechanical skills! If not walk away! Ask about injectors and any mods done like fuel pump pre filter to cp3 etc.

I am very mechanically inclined so that won't be a problem. Was just wondering if there was anything that I would look for as in problems in the 3rd gens. Thanks for the reply I'll get more info and post it.
