2000 Dodge Ram 2500 Quad cab 4x4. 53 block replaced with 2001 engine. Still working on getting it up and running.

Mods: Full billet Auto tranny, 220 psi valve body, TCS billet multi disc TC, ATS billet flex plate, FASS 150, Scheid Lightning VP44, DAP 7x.012 sac injectors, ARP studs, 5inch exhaust, Banks Intake horn, ATS 5000 turbo, Stainless Diesel polished exhaust manifold, Snow stage 2 water meth. Edge Comp Hot. BD stealth plate.

Just ordered Cummins original parts...2000 map sensor...tone ring for 2001 crank...tone ring screws/bolts. ($300).

Any advice on making 2001 engine work with 2000 electronics would be appreciated!
 
Engine swap nearing completion!

Well I bought 1999 crank, have Cummins tone ring and screws. Also got 2000 crank sensor, 2000 cam sensor, 2000 map sensor and found really nice shape 2000 engine wire harness. Bought 2000 cam gear, cam gear retainer and 2000 gear case and cover. Have 2000 ecm.

Since engine is coming out I also bought Hamilton 103lb springs, Hamilton Extreme duty rods, Colt cam stage 4, Colt Tappets, zinc additive.

Truck goes into Diesel Services Northwest Inc in Tacoma, WA. Next week. Dan is a diesel genius. He works on any Diesel engine.

A word of warning to anybody replacing a 98.5-2000 engine with 2001-2002. It is absolutely not a direct swap. There are many differences. Do your research. I was sold a 2001 engine when I requested a 2000 non 53 block. It has cost me dearly.
