New style IPR works on old style?

Hey guys I have a 95 OBS PSD. The ipr went bad and we checked the engine number and it told us we had to replace it with a "Pre 95.5" IPR. I called pensacola diesel and they told us that the new style IPR's (95.5-03 I believe) work fine on my truck. Can anyone confirm this?
