The rules are changing for 2009, so don't build on a 2008 rulebook.
Pat is going down to the NHRA in January and finding out about the new truck rules. Our cage is legal, but it's overkill. He just wants to find out so he can answer questions to those building new trucks.

The way I read the new rules is that is you dont want to run back bars you have to have an interior cage equivalent to the 7.5 and under cages. That would make it hard to run the truck on the street without a helmet due to the cage being really close to your head.
This link shows you what you need for bars. It doesn't show a dash bar but I believe it is required as well.
