Just started tuning on my own for this pulling season. Just got back from a test in tune and truck ran like poo. In the off season I put a different intake on and decided not to use the mafs. In my log file the the truck never commanded more than 10200psi of rail pressure. Question is does the default -40 degrree that the truck now reads cause this issue.(On an Lb7 mafs and iat are the same sensor)

Two of the wires that go two the maf are intake air temp wires, when u disconnect an IAT sensor it defaults to -40 deg. Look at a w/s manual to determine which wires to the maf are for the IAT, u can disconnect them and wire up a GM IAT sensor and plug from an early LS1 from a camaro , etc. Not sure about the rail pressure limit.

You will be a lot happier in the long run to put the MAF back in.

We struggled for a year on two projects, trying to get them to run right. They would only build power to so many rpms and not the hp they should.
Wired a MAF back into both projects and RPM and HP came on.
