Ok guys I have an 03 common rail and I bolted a 12 valve in it and having trouble making the tach work. I called destroked told them what the truck and motor was etc. they sent me a 60-2 tone wheel.

So I bolted it up I front of the balancer and made a mount for the factory tach sender. I have messed around with the sender location and have not had any lunch getting a signal. I'm curious if they sent me the wrong tone wheel will I not get a signal at all?

Here is some pictures

I have tried a couple different gaps with no luck. Also I made sure the tone ring is running dead center of the sensor.

Ok mounted factory tone ring and still nothing any help is appreciated like to get this truck done.

Your balancer is too big, the pickup can not differentiate pulses which the teeth are lower than the balancer itself. move the pickup further forward away from the motor and try it. Or get a smaller balancer.

Hit up young guns15..or look up his build in this forum its called 12-rail..he did same thing I believe..he might be able to steer you in the right direction..

^^^^Agree tone wheel is to close. Shim the tone wheel further from the balancer till you have a solid signal.

I'm still questioning the 60-2 wheel since they sent me a 60-1 wheel for my 05 conversion.

Are you using the common rail balancer or the 12 valve? I used the 12 valve balancer on mine.

I'm using a 12 valve balancer with the common rail tone ring. The tone ring is good off the top of my head half inch away. I can snap a pic of this setup tonight.

Pics still no luck

Also my oil pressure is working but still no tach? I wonder if there's something else I need to hook up yet. There was two grounds one I grounded to motor and the other to the battery and then the main power for the ECM is hooked to battery.

Also looking at destroked websites all 03 to 07 trucks require 58 pulses so they did send me the wrong tone ring

:confused:Ok a little update when the tach sensor is unplugged it does not read oil pressure. So does that mean the sensor is messed up?

If the crank sensor is plugged up but not close to the tone ring, do you have oil pressure?
