I'm going to be replacing the clutch in my '99 4x4 soon, and while the trannny/tcase are separated, I want to fix the oil leak where the rear housing meets the main transmission case.
My questions are:
Does this require a gasket (clearance issues) or will silicone or anerobic sealer work?
Can this be done without taking apart the whole tranny, any special tools or procedures required?
Just currious to hear from someone whose done this before.
Thanks in advance!

You need a 12 point 10mm socket and some silicone. Be careful the bolt heads lijke to strip and you may need to hammer a 3/8 12 point socket on to get stripped bolts. Check the "big" nut on the output while you're there, it's the infamous "5th" gear nut.
