NV5600 4x4 Neutral Problem

Sometimes after shifting into neutral. The trans acts like its some how locked between forward and reverse. The shifter is in neutral but when you let out on the clutch. It pulls the motor way down to the point of killing it. The truck however doesnt seem like it wants to roll forward or backwards. Any ideas?

Sounds like its getting stuck in two gears. I would say its most likely wear in your shifter, but could be a bent fork too. Does it have a short shift kit? Might try going back to stock throw and see if it gets better.

It has the factory shifter in it. Maybe the fork is bent then.

Pull the shifter and take a look!

Does it do it all the time or just like one out of five times? Any other abnormal noises in any gear or neutral when it works?

not sure if the same problem can occur, but on the 5spds, the gates that the end of the shifter falls into will eventually wear to the point that 5th and reverse will lock together or just be hung in 5th gear.

It only happens once in a while with no other strange noises. I'll pull the shifter.
