In my transmission research I stumbled on John Sleath, across the pond. I've never seen this ride before. Pretty impressive truck he has.

Last I spoke with John, the engine was making just over 1100HP. We kept the tuning fairly mild at the time and actually pulled HP out of the tuning from that for track use. Glad to see it on the track. The guy knows his stuff.

I had no idea they were even into that stuff over there, much less at that level. Impressive.

Awesome looking rig, I just wouldn't want one of those intercooler pipes to blow, it would be a good way to have a bad day. What is this things fast time do you know Rob? From the video it was a 8.4694 at 162.23.

That thing's sweet! Fastest Duramax list anyone? Also, x2 on the piping in the cab. I remember when Jim Blair blew the entire roof off of his mustang after an intercooler explosion blew out the windshield. Tried to find the video, but I think it was before YouTube.

and in the comments of one of the other videos it says its a 4l80e. Nice!!

No bars from the top of the rollcage to the rear frame?!?! And those charge pipes?!?!

Thanks for the nice words guys,
I don't do forum as a rule, comments like SmokeShow get on my tit's
Chassis is SFI 25.1c, US design no nasty cab bars needed, I pressure checked all the intercooler work to 250psi.
I have had problems with the trans, was told overdrive was weak so went with a Gearvendors, waste of $3000+, would not last more than 2 runs, I remade the 4l80e overdrive ,zero problems to date.
if any of you guys want info just email me from my web site http://www.john-sleath.com
John

Thanks for stopping in, John. Feel free to share your new track times when you turn on the nitrous and we'll update the fastest Duramax list.

Didn't mean anything bad about the lack of rear bars. I'm completely ignorant about racing. I'm just used to seeing them and was more or less just curious.

Are there other diesels in your class to race against or are you running against gas powered vehicles?

I work all day every day on gas powered cars, tuning building ect, I have a chassis dyno and a engine dyno. About 4 years ago I dyno'ed 2 lb7's for a company over here building GT type race cars, wow I was so blown away by the power they made I sold my 7sec 190mph+ street car and built my truck, and just love it, it's so not what I do every day, there are lots of diesel race cars over here, BMW's, VW's ect but nothing custom built with real V8 power.

Welcome and awesome!

I do like these shifters, I ordered them for the forward pattern valve body I changed to over the winter, but it would not hold the truck back on the trans brake, so moved back to the TCI one, and with a bit of reworking I'm really glade I did, but now I have to push my shifter not pull it.
