Where are you guys getting needle valves to regulate the return side of your ppump? I plan on running a magnafuel 750 or 1000 pump off of the front cover at 60 psi. Is 6an hose substantial enough for the return side? I am running a 12mm with 5 X .020s with plans of a better ppump this fall. I have searched McMaster Carr and cannot seem to find the brass 90* valve with t handle. Thanks in advance.

Just spend the money and get a decent regulator. Aren't too expensive.
And the proper fuel pressure is a good thing.

There is nothing wrong with regulating using a needle valve. I have several sources for regulators under 150, I just prefer to use a needle valve.

A needle valve is NOT a regulator. A regulator will vary with pressure changes to maintain a constant pressure. A needle valve will allow fuel to return continuously regardless of flow volume input, therefor it it NOT a regulator.

^this is correct. regulators are spring loaded so that they act as 'variable' orifii

a needle valve will only throttle the input pressure down.
