Removing Crank gear

Anyone know the best way to get the crankshaft gear off with the engine still in the truck? I have a truck with some bent up pushrods and would like to inspect the pin before I put it all back together.

A good puller is a must. Heating the gear is a no no.

Or. You could cut it off and buy a new gear.

maybe the latter. I have a puller like you posted and It wont fit. Everything else on the crank and even the cam gear just slid right off with no puller at all. Why the crank gear has to be so difficult I don't know.
