i was told that there are s480 models that have unchangeable exhaust housings. is there any truth to this?

Yes if the exhaust housing is cut for the same size wheel.

The s480 typically has the larger turbine wheel(96x88) there is only one factory housing for that turbo. 1.32 a/r.

ok can you order a different wheel and exhaust housing? say a 1.10 and t4

Yes you can get an s480 with 83/74 wheel In 1.10 t4.... Have you ever used google?

yes but i didnt know if there were s480's out there that you cant change

If you have an S400 with the 96/88 turbine you cant just change the wheel and housing on that turbo. It uses specific center section that has a larger shoulder diameter where the exhaust housing fits on. Or at least that's my understanding of it.
