Scheid Front Covet w/ Cam Support

Does the roller bearing that supports the nose of the cam in the Scheid front cover require any specific maintenance?

They say it doesnt need anything special. But I had some pretty good wear showing after only 6 hooks on a dedicated puller. About every 10 hooks I would take my front cover off and pack the bearing with some thick high pressure cam assembly lube. That seemed to fix the lubrication problem.

I built my own front cover with a cam support that just used a standard cam bearing in it and ran an oil line around the front from the pump feed. Maybe the scheid cover could be fed with an oil line to help lube issues?

Kind of defeats the point of a roller bearing if it wears out extremely fast....

those rollers need an oil feed of some sort. theres not enough oil splash off the gears/cover for a needle roller bearing in these engines. juptons idea is a good one.
