hey im looking at 2 trucks one is a 2001 duramax with about 200,000 miles.

i know they had alot more injector problems

and the other is a gmc 2006 with nearly the same mileage.

so i would like the good and the bad, the only 2 i have to go off of is a guy

from work 2001 its had injectors twice in 150,000 miles

and my dads 05 with like 110,000 miles
thanks

the 2006 will have less injector issues
if your goin for stock power 06 all the way

if building a power house get the 01

LBZ is an all around better bet, 6 speed tranny with the manual shift option and a stronger motor and less injector problems. I don't agree with duramax9878 on the lb7 is better for building either. The reason so many of them are built is because of they price and availabilty. LBZ is a much better base motor to build, stronger and you can get more rpm out of it. The hassle with the injector cups along and the PIA it is to change the injectors makes the LB7 a lesser prospect.

agreed, lbz all the way, more reliable, also with the 6 speed, they can handle quite a bit more power than the 5 speed, ditch the egr, efi live it and your on your way! lol

the only things better about the 01 should be price, and pistons. 01-05 are slightly more reliable at mid power levels for this reason.
