I have a '91 non-i/c 12v bottom end and a '94 12v bottom end
The pistons are different. I've heard that the non-i/c pistons have a lower top ring land and a bigger bowl, but all I can tell from looking at them is that they are NOT the same pistons in the '94 bottom end. Both bottom ends are in excelent shape, I just need to know which one to balance and which one to sell. What about marine pistons, I can get a set for under $900 but i feel that money would be better spent on machine work for the head.
What are the best pistons cummins installed from the factory?
