shifter column wont come down HELP!!

So in my 2000 24v and i changed the ignition out in the truck because it was going bad. so i did that and now i cant seem to figure out how to get the shifter to come down. I have checked all the fuses and they are all in working order, anyone have any ideas? Im stumped

try turning steering wheel. or sounds like you installed something wrong on the ignition
