I have a slight miss that has come up on my truck. It can be heard in the exhaust, but the motor sounds completely fine as far as I can tell. The truck has 170k miles on it. I have checked for blow by and diesel in the oil and nothing. I did however notice that the miss goes away when the AC engages, but comes back once it disengages. Could this be an injector that is starting to stick? At the track about a month ago after a run, I let off the throttle and the RPMs hung at 1100RPM for about 10 seconds then came back down. Only thing I can think of is a sticking injector since the miss goes away once the AC kicks on, and put a load in the motor. Let me know what you guys think it may be

Check the overhead to see if its within spec, could be a rocker out of adjustment or bad pushrod.. HG going south between 2 cylinders possibly?

Has the head ever been off?

Head has never been off. Motor sounds good, and well it sounds like it's being flooded more than anything. If I put my hand to the exhaust, I can feel a puff of air hit it every few seconds, then stops for a few seconds then comes back.

I would spend the money to have valve seats put in. Could save you a sh!t load of money in the long run.

And have you taken all programming off to see if it helped?

I will have my mechanic check it all out tomorrow. But I would think if my head gasket was going bad, I would have been losing coolant, but I have been checking it consistently for a long time same with my oil and all fluid levels are ok. My mechanic will adjust all my valves once he installs the new nozzles. But I was hoping this would be an injector issue. I have no knock in the motor by the way.

I run a Smarty and this doesn't go away with it on or off. It's still there, I can feel the miss in the exhaust and I can hear it in the exhaust only, not in the motor.
