Like Said what are the limits of various injector's (Timing Wise) to keep the spray in the bowl on a stock piston? Using a thin washer (20 Thou)?

Stock
DDP4's
Dragon Fly's
Dragon Flow's
NE370's
NE435's
DDP Comps
HR370's

-And so on (Any Injector) just like a guide type thing-

370's....18*
DDP4....24-25*

assuming stock head height....gasket and such

Don't know about DPP 4's, thought they were stock spray pattern.....no EDM machine!

I.I. Fly's or Flows with be high, like 28-30, I do know at 24 there was a perfect pattern in the bowl.

Wow. I didn't know how many variables the injector timing can effect. Learn something new everyday. What else does injector timing effect?

This is what my Haisley 5x15's looked like at 20* of timing

What is wrong with those injectors ?

370 injectors can do the same marks for stock pistons with 16* timing

For me your piston looks like marine and stock marine timing is 24

Marine 370 injector pop pressure is higher as well, bringing the effective timing down.
A list of pop pressures for all the popular injectors... Stockers,
Marine 370's, DDP's, Dragons, etc. would be VERY helpfull here.

what would the timing need to be on a truck with 5x18 injectors with a marine gasket

I know 23.5* will work on a stock 215 pump and dragon flows. 42* with a 13mm quick delivery pump melted the edges of the bowl.
id say 36-38 degrees would of been the limit

I think instead of listing what timing works best for each injector (since so many other variables affect how it runs), a listing of spray angles for each injector would be helpful. That way you could calculate what timing would work the best based upon your own combonation (HG thickness, injector washer thickness, piston design, pump, etc, etc)...

How about listing the spray dispersement (sp?) angle as well...

Oh yea, and list the info for 24V injectors too:thankyou2:

Custom drilled tips set up for the timing of the pump is the way to go!
