Stud install $$ ?

well guys im bout ready to do studs...im in southern ohio and about 20 minutes away from woodruff diesel. they want 1000+mechanic labor($60 an hour) to install the studs+gaskets...from most people ive talked to have said this is a damn good price? any input...thanks
 
Its a pritty easy install. I can't see paying that much for somthing that can be done over a weekend. Studs are a great idea, I wish the trucks came stock with them. If your head gasket isn't blown, why replace it?
 
IMO, ask them for a final price. Keep in mind you can get the ARP studs for around $500 from DJ (dj-performance.com).....I'm not sure how many labor hours you'll be billed for.

Just get a fixed price estimate. I have learned the harway on leaveing the labor till last. Most shops will just straight up nail you at the end if you do that. Dj did mine and I think I might have paid some where around 2600 for parts and labor but I ma no sure cause i had other things done and spent more than that in total.
 
Yup, DJ's price is around $2600. And you know they were done right!
