Hey, everyone, I'm trying to throw together a system for my Ramcharger and I'm looking for some suggestions.
I've done some measuring and sketching and this is the box I've got room for.
My calculations put it ~.95f3 if you hack off the 11x2.5" piece, or ~1.05f3 if I leave it on. I've got the dotted line on there as if I left the piece on I'd see it being a port, so I was looking at how long I could make said port.
I'm not looking for utmost SQ or trying to rattle the truck apart, but if I'm going to do this (first time ever) I'd like to do it as right as I can. I'm looking at a Sundown Audio SA-10 D4, so if I can get away with a sealed box I'll probably mount my amp where the 11x2.5" section is after I delete it.
Amp is an Alpine MX 110, possibly a bit much for this setup but it's what I've got.
Music is mainly metal with some crunk and wub wub thrown in very occasionally, so being able to keep up with very fast pedal drums is pretty important.
If you all think that setup can handle it ported I'll give t a shot, but I have no idea how to calculate port length and whatnot. It'd be fun to try but for simplicity's sake I may be better off going sealed.
Any thoughts on different box/sub is welcome, but the SA sub is right under $200 and that's about as much as I'm willing to spend, so it would have to be cheaper. Box fits the room I have, I use the trunk a lot in this thing.
Specs on SA-10:
