swapping a ve pump head

how involved is it to swap a pump head on a 4 cyl ve? I got a 12mm for my 1.6td, and I am thinking about changing it my self.

Honestly shouldn't be that hard. Getting it calibrated correctly might be a different story.

There is a minimum value for end play on the crankshaft, but I have no clue on what it is.
I believe it's adjusted with the little shim that rides between the cam plate and the plunger itself.
Those shims come in various thicknesses and there's even some that are over-thick so they can be custom machined according to your needs.
