SXE Turbo Dyno Testing

How big of a spool difference will a 64.5/68/12 be over a 64.5/73/14?

We won't know for certain till we test it on our test truck on the dyno. But I'd guess the 64.5/73 combo will be more similar to the 369sxe spool up numbers than the 64.5/68 spoolup numbers we've tested.

You can run a single 369 ? I figured it would be lazy
To daily. My 64.5 is doable just don't expect to tow with it. Its got the 73mm and 14cm housing

Today's Test: 369SXE w/091 T4 housing. Sorry for the big delay!!!

9 seconds. You could finish off a cheeseburger waiting for boost, Lol... Would be awesome to see testing on the larger AR housing turbos on a 6.7l. I bet that 69/91 would wake up quite a bit.

The time to full power comparison is pretty cool, the compounds were done before the 62 or 69 made full power.

Are there Egt readings?

On these max power runs, we don't even pay attention to EGT readings, they are always in the 1700 to 1850 range on these full power tests.

We do towing simulation testing where we select a load and grade, say 15k @ 6% and then we focus on maximum useable/sustained towing HP with 1200 max EGT, this testing is not as "fun" for YouTube/Social media, but it is very informative and what leads us to try different turbo combinations for real-world all purpose turbo setups. It's eye-opening when you compare the K27/369 kit to my old 363/s480 compounds at a reduced fueling state. The fact of the matter is whichever setup makes the most boost at the "detuned" fueling situation generally has the very best sustained EGT control/useable towing power. However, when you simulate a steep grade or heavy enough load that requires a downshift, the 363/s480 setup shines at say 3k rpm or 3rd gear 65 to 70mph pulling vs. the smaller turbo setups.

We are adding another camera angle to show boost/EGT gauges for that added bit of information for our video subscribers.

I was curious about the ability to sustain that power level before it got unmanageably hot.

Awesome videos! Any plans of doing a S472sxe?

im very curious to see the differences in the turbines

Keep up the great work!

Today's Test: 369sx-e w/.80ar T3 housing on stock manifold fed by a Hamilton Head, 188/220 Cam, 650cc max effort 215 pump, 5x018" VCO heavily worked over dual fed

Great series of tests. Thank you... Any chance of testing on a 6.7 ? I would really like to see how much better that 69 would perform on a better flowing, larger displacement engine.
