effin Photobucket....
To keep up with the build, I bought a Genos dash to go with the new lower dash I purchased. The reason I bought it over the LMC is because of the reinforcements around the upper holes, and the fact that I've used LMC dashes in the past and had them crack in short order.
Im also gearing up for the ppump swap finally. I have all the "big" parts. The pump, gear, housing, mounts. Ill be using the 12v throttle posistion sensor and linkage as well, all of which I have.
I ordered Larry B's Super solenoid, and bracket. Along with it, Im going to use a Coil Commander instead of trying to rig up some crazy wiring scheme to energize the pull and hold coils. This will be much easier. Just key on power to the coil commander and it takes care of the rest. I also placed an order for injection lines from JP Diesel today. I need to order some plumbing for fuel feed and return, and oil feed. I just need to figure out sizes. Should be about all I need to have all the parts. Ill probably put a Keating billet tappet cover on at the same time though.
While I'm doing the dash, I'm doing a radio "delete". I never use the radio in the 2nd gen.... Only on long drives which it rarely goes on any more. Not to mention the FM reception is absolutely horrible.... So I'm going to install a Bluetooth only receiver. That can play anything I could ever want to listen too through my phone. I'm going to use a WetSounds Bluetooth Rocker Switch. It fits in a standard Carling Rocker opening. To have to avoid any screwy wiring, I'm just going to buy an inexpensive small amp, with speaker line outputs. While the infinity speakers have their own amps, this will be much easier!
Ill be installing 2 Carling Contura rocker switches along side it for future accessories. Maybe some flush mount cubes in the rear bumper? Since that will only take up about half the space where the factory 1.5DIN radio was, Im going to install the AFC Live controls and a boost controller in the other half. There will be custom engraved legends around the knobs form Carolina laser. Those should be here next week, so hopefully they turn out nice. For the panel, Im just using a single DIN radio adapter, and wrapping it in 16ga steel, and riveting it to the adapter. After all the openings are cut, I'll cover it in some textured black vinyl wrap.
Im also doing away with the Pillar gauges and everything will be through a CTS2. I have an original CTS, but since I have a CTS2 in the new truck I really like that one so much better...so had to get one for the 2nd gen too. :bang The TST Comp and Smarty sold last week. I thought about getting a Quadzilla to try, but though eff it....its p pump time..:evil
Once I find a new image hosting site I like, ill get some pics up of progress. I havnt forgotten about the suspension either. I want to get some stuff powder coated, and get the Dana 80 cleaned up and re-sealed before it goes in. Im hoping to have a busy winter with the truck
