So we've been chasing a drive line vibration for a couple weeks in her 2003 7.3L SRW F350. Messed with a few u joints, checked a few other things, then I pull the plug on the rear. Metal shards, not wear dust. Removed the cover all pull out pieces of what's left of a bearing cage and pretty glitter gear lube. I look over at the woman and she goes: "Oh yea, I was power-braking my truck a while back and rear end made weird noise when I was driving home" :bang

Now, I'm assuming it's a Sterling 10.5" rear. How different is it doing one of these vs a 7.5" GM or Ford 9"? I've done plenty of those, but never one of these.

My Ford buddy is talking about case speaders, the pinion shims going under the bearing meaning, special tools to rebuild the posi, etc. What special Ford tools am I going to need? And are any of these tools going to be useful with my Dodge's Dana 70 or 80?

Do the sell posi rebuild kits for these?

Thoughts? Opinions? Prayers?

I'm thinking just finding a used complete rear may save me time/stress/money...
