Tire opinions

I am in need of 2 new front tires for the puller. I am between buying a new set of bfg all terrain KO's size 305/70r/16 and would put them on my 6inch wide 16in wheels.

My other option, seen below, is a used set of bfg all terrain KO's size 305/65r/17 that I would be putting on a set of 9 inch wide 17in wheels.

Looking for opinions on which would hook better. new tires on narrower rims or the used tires on wider rims. price is the same either way. Thanks.

new tires all day...then save your pennies and get 10 inch wide wheels for them
 
Try a set of the new BFG KO2! I installed 4 new ones before last season and they hook great! I run 325/65R18 on 18x10 in rear and 35x12.5x17 on stock wheels in front.

For this season I just went with 2 standard bfg kO's on the front on 10 inch wide wheels. I looked at the standard KO's and KO2's side by side before buying. The KO2's definitely had more spacing between the tread. I may have to give them a try on the rear next year.
