lookin for some input on changing my stock tire size(215/85/16) up to a (235/85/16). I know it's not much bigger, only about 4% but thinking it will help high gear a little more. wondering if anyone has negitive ideas about this or if its a good idea. its a '06 GMC crew dually LBZ/6speed allision thanks in advance, Corey

trucks don't look right with anything less then 33"s / 285's

To get back on track... the guys that use their trucks for towing need 235 or less to keep the tires from kissing with load. 255s are close but will kiss without a spacer between the rims on a heavy load. I run 235s on my tow rig and like them. And contrary to what has been said already in this thread, they do help take up some of the wheel wells better than the stockers.

235/85R16 is a good tire. Has good load ratings and is just under 32"tall. 255/85R16 are a rare beast in anything other than a mud tire or low load range.

215/85/16 is approximately 30.4" tall
245/75/16 is approximately 30.5" tall

The main difference being that the stock 215 dully tire is approximately 1.2" narrower.
