Hello,
First a little background. Somewhere around 270,000 I pulled the 47re for a rebuild. Im no trans specialist, but tore down the main case (didn't look at overdrive) and upgraded the 2nd gear band, lever, anchor, servo, accumulator, and installed a transgo shift kit. All the clutches and steels seemed fine.
I also installed a remanned single billet torque converter. I'm not too hard on the truck but somewhere near 300,000 miles one of the cooling lines rusted out and spit fluid everywhere. I didn't notice for a while and it slipped a lot. After fixing and topping off it slipped a lot when it warmed up.
I'm thinking now I need to tear into it again and inspect everything. I don't feel like doing this again, not sure if I'm going to add more horsepower or not in the future, but I'm thinking of upgrading to a triple disc.
Is it ok to get a remanned triple disc or should I get a new one?
Since I'm going triple, I assume I should bite the bullet and get an upgraded flexplate and billet input shaft.
