troubleshooting tips for elec. starting issues?

Been welding up floorpans and stuff, so after I was done I checked all the wiring in the areas I worked in.
I get nothing when I turn the key. The pump solenoid has power but not enough to pull the plunger up. If I pull it manually it stays put.
Havent checked the starter itself but thats like 1 year old and was fine.
Im close to towing it to a local auto electrical shop. Kinda fed up at this point:nail:

Figured it out after a lot of aggravation and cursing.. it was the park / neutral safety switch on the transmission valvebody. looks like I popped the plug off while I was under the truck.
