Good rule of thumb is if the paint is burnt off not just singed it's beyond usable.

I’ve had way better luck out of the burnt ones and the ones with the front gear train destroyed from a front hit vs the ones guys swear are “runners”. Remember they were almost all running when the trucks were crashed.

I've saved a ton of burnt engines before. If the aluminum isn't melted, it will run. At least assuming it's a mechanical engine.

Yea there isn’t enough flammable stuff under the hood to usually cook them too bad.

Don’t need skirts if your frame is low enough. It’s all about the BSFC’s
