How long would the rnr on a turbo on a 3500 gmc duramax. A freind has been quoted 11 hours to change out his turbo. They told him that they need to drop the tranny,,, dosent sound right to me, but I have never actually worked on one yet.... please let me know what you think

No need to drop the tranny unless someone has stripped the heads off the up-pipe bolts. Those bolts are a real pain though but a turbo swap typically should take no more than 4 hours and that is allowing time for problems.

On edit, I have not done one on an LML yet but can't imagine that they are that different.
