Turbo surge "barking"

Hey need some help with a first gen with a turbo barking issue. We installed 40 hp injectors, BD power power pin and 3gsk spring, 16cm housing on the stock charger. Has a intake and 4" exhaust.

When you drive the truck under load the charger will start to surge and almost in to a bark condition just like if you let up on the throttle and get the typical barking sound. Checked the charge air lines with shop air and have no leaks.

truck Makes a max boost of 25 psi.

Sounds like surge to me. Because with the factory h1cs don't have a mwe slot.

yup yup, there's a reason they went with an MWE housing when they went tighter than 18cm in 94

Okay good to know. Great info. I do have a charger off a 2001 that I could install with the 16 cm housing.

Thanks for the help installed a hx35 with a 40 wheel in it and truck drives great. Who knew tha the MWE grove did so much.
