Just curious, has anyone here run a Valair torque converter in front of an E4OD or 4R100 on a 7.3 truck? One of my students had spectacular trans failure this week, we're going to rebuild it in the lab, but he is parts hunting. First instinct was to send him to DPC, but he's set on Valair and wants some real world feed back.

Are they one and the same? the descriptions are identical...
 
You can't go wrong buying the"valair converter". That is all i will say.
 
Thanks guys! I got ahold of Dan and he said he had one in stock and it was called and ordered. Hope it does me well.

How good is the valair compared to the triple disc Precision or even the HD ford torque convertors?
 
As said above you couldn't go wrong with either Valair or Diesel Performance Converters, they are a very good converter.

If he doesn't want to spend quite that much money right now and he's not making killer HP, Transtar sells a dual disc that is a great improvement over a stock converter.
