Picked up a set of steel wheels in a 17x10. But have a concern regarding welds. When wheels were built they had to add a 2" strip in center of wheel to get a 10" width. Welds look picture perfect and the center is welded close to one of center strip welds. My main concern is will these be strong enough for daily driving and moderate towing? Was told they would be, but after seeing them I'm not so sure. If anyone has any experience with wheels like this let me know your thoughts. Guess I might have a $800 set of shop fan bases..:nail:

My buddy used to make them all the time for whatever width he needed. He would also relocate the centers to change the offset/backspacing. We both used them for years pulling and I occasionally drove them on the street, though not much as we usually just kept the pulling tires for on the track. I never had a problem with them. As long as they were set in a jig when welded to make sure they are "square" I would think you would be ok.
