Cat makes a C18 with a split manifold with 2 small turbos. (3 cyl each) It's used on a stationary engine and I believe some sort of OshKosh firetruck with an Allison. Guys have tried to use this setup on the street and it doesn't work. They're laggy as hell but for some reason guys keep trying it. Now since they can't get twins to spool they must think adding a 3rd will help. It's the exact opposite of every triple setup that actually works with one on the manifold and 2 atmosphere.

Compounds on a cat are the sexiest thing I've seen next to a nice pair of boobies

How do these setups perform? Specifics? Power ect? The yellow one looks like cummins. Looks real nice:charger:

Run great. S478 under an S500. Top one the owner wanted 1k HP or so to the ground. This one was a friend and he wanted 1400hp or so. He just wanted to have a bigger pecker than the first guy. Lol

Didn't have time to do the shiny ceramic on the 2nd one so it's coming back after the truck gets cut up and converted.

So what do the guys with 1400HP on a towing semi? Does the drivetrain hold up with 75K lbs?

Well both of those gross just under 70k. Neither are work trucks they pull SD 4X4 pulling trucks around the country. I don't believe HP has much impact on driveline. Fleet drivers can destroy trucks with a 450hp engine but this truck is 1100hp to the ground and routinely is over 150k gross and has never had an issue.

1000hp+ to the ground., 900* in the manifold max 52psi boost and very little smoke. Doesn't get much better than passing freight trucks on hills grossing twice what they are.

Antrim built that one, gotta give credit to Richard.

Are any of the aftermarket big cam Cummins rebuild parts any good? It'd be for a 400 that probably won't see 100k in the next 5 years.

Are these C15s?

Yes, Acerts. The guy with the red truck has a C18 too but it's been sitting for years waiting for the W9 to be finished to put it in.

I'm getting mine done first just to beat him to the punch.

I've seen that C18 a few times at Antrim's. Were there twin turbo C18 ACERTs manufactured by Cat? Those aren't Cat turbos are they?

Are you starting a C18 or a C15 and putting C18 guts in the block? I didn't think C18s were a good varying RPM. I thought there was something to do with rod angle that pits to much stress on the crank causing them to brake. Or is that just high RPM applications?
