Hey There Everybody

You did a excelent job man... not a better feeling in the world to tear down.something to the last bolt rebuild and put it back together and it run like a sewing machine!

Thanks man, it is a pretty great feeling.

IC mounted. Working on the grille currently. Pain in the a$$ to keep that tranny cooler there.

Negative. Taken with a Nikon D40x, edited with Adobe Lightroom. I might have over done that picture haha.

Looks a little different, but not out of the realm of a great shot on a shiny day...some of the photos in mags have went too far with that type of stuff, but yours look good!

Well I haven't updated this thread, but a couple things have happened recently. First thing was, I had a brake hose blow out on me, which was exciting. :aiwebs_016:
Then a couple wheel bearings blew in the front axle, so instead of just replacing them I decided to rebuild the entire axle. I know, I have a problem. :hehe: And I also installed a RedHead steering box, and new tie rod ends. Steers like a new truck now.

Unfortunately I didn't have a camera at the time so I only got one picture during the whole process, and it isn't a great one. But this is a rebuilt hub vs...not.

But, I got the camera working and took some good pictures. Only finished shots but oh well.

As far as the turbo goes, DAP told me they had a 90* v-band pipe for the compressor outlet, and sent it to me. And whaddya know, it was the wrong one. So I called them to have the correct piece sent to me, and the guy says "oh, uhhhhhh we don't have a 90* v-band for that turbo." So why the hell did you just send me one that was incorrect for no reason? I was a little irritated. I have all the piping and boots to install the turbo. All I need is the 90* v-band pipe and that s300 will be singing.

Man, that thing looks like a monster with those 37s under it. I've always preferred that style of wheel myself. Nice touch painting the steering linkages to match, too. Subtle. Definitely not like some of the trucks you see with every suspension and steering component painted. Great looking truck overall!!

Sure is pretty looking up there in Tahoe! It's safe to say, one of the colors on your truck is sky blue. :lolly:

Thanks man! I was a little hesitant to paint the components the same color as my engine, but I think it turned out nice. I was worried it would look like one of those trucks you are describing, with every single piece chrome or painted. I've always preferred the low lift, big meat look. No point lifting your truck 6" to go up 1" in tire size. I appreciate the kind words!

Well, I got some bad news. The first gen is dead. Rolled 2 and a quarter times. R.I.P.

So happy this just happened!

Did you even feel it? It's in great shape for rolling twice. Mine was worse after just flipping on it's side LOL

Glad you're ok though.

Dude that sucks!! I'm glad your ok. It's not dead ether, you now can build a bad ass full size crawler.

That is one of the plans for my truck if this scenario ever presents itself to me.

Yea, hooning. Being stupid. Neither of us were hurt, I had maybe 1 scratch. We were very lucky, it could have been much much worse. Luckily it didn't take long for my mind to become cognate of what happened, and it was strangely second nature to shut the truck off immediately.

I am not getting rid of this project. A body swap is the plan if the frame is straight.

Thanks man. Haven't touched the truck since I parked it. Its buried in snow now. I've just been starting it every now and then. I don't see anything happening with it until summer, unfortunately. I need the shop for the equipment.
