New Sump from BDP

just curious about gasket placement, out side the tank, the fuel is already out of the tank, inside it would only ever encounter fuel as well, no road salt, water,......... my 2c

Just so everyone knows, we're going to offer these sumps at an introductory rate of $149 Shipped

whats the differences between the two designs? i was thinking you could chop the ring in half so it can be installed through the big hole drilled in the tank. $.02

We're just selling the tank drop version now, no sense in messing with 2 different designs when one will take care of everyone.

The gasket goes on the outside of the tank, between the sump and tank.

There is no way to only use an internal gasket. There will always be a joint at the sump and the tank on the outside that has to be sealed, no way around it. Only the very edge of the gasket is exposed to any outside elements.

I received my sump today. I am impressed!!!

Eric, are you guy using different bolts?
Looks like those go from inside out with allen head on bottom.
Much better way to secure it.

yes we changed over to studs. Not only makes a better seal but also helps with install if you're not dropping the tank

Swole, those press in studs were just not working out, they would not go in straight and would sometimes come loose while installing. So we changed over to a SS set screw and threaded the inner flange.

We are working on the next design with a oring so no more gaskets. Not that the gaskets are bad but the oring will make it that much easier to install.
