I have 1 new style and 1 old style. The old style is perfectly fine, the new style just has an engraving flaw

How many gaskets does your old style sump use? Is there a torque spec for the bolts?

I acquired an old style sump, and I can't find install instructions for it

The old sumps came with 2 gaskets. I recommend removing the gaskets though and either making your own gasket out of Viton, or just using Right stuff gasket maker to seal it up with.



New style blem sump is sold, still have the old style sump available.
 
BUMP!! $100 shipped on the old style sump. Nothing wrong with it at all.

Also have a newer style sump, that our machine cut the groove a little too deep for the o-ring to make a good seal. It is still a good useable sump, but instead of using the o-ring you will need to use some silicone to seal it up. $90 shipped takes this one, and it will come with the hole saw as well!!
 
Got mine put on the other day, installed in 15 minutes and made a difference on fuel pressure when I launch. Very impressed with it.

All blems are sold at this point. I'll go nudge Beans dad's shoulder tomorrow and see if i can't get some more blems out of him :lolly:
 
Where's the best place to install these? Yes, duh on the bottom, but towards the front, the back or right smack in the middle?

The flattest area on the tank is ideal, generally directly under the factory pickup. If the area in too convex or concave in the slightest amount it wont seal right. Ask me how I know.

Yup, exactly what Dave said. Mount it directly underneath the factory pickup.
