Truckers, lets see your rigs!

My favorite and most impractical trucks on the entire lot LOL

Not so spacious or comfortable...

No worse than a front discharge, concrete and comfort don't seem to go hand in hand.

No doubt. Even our brand new Osh Kosh units come with no insulation and two broke azz speakers you can barely hear over the wind blowing through the cracks. At least they drive nice though. These old rears with the walking beam suspension suck. Need a helmet to drive one.

Hey guys, got a favor to ask. I'm deployed in Africa and I have nothing better to do than shop for new projects. Take a look at this ad, and tell me what you all think.

It is cheap, which is always my price. In my opinion it looks pretty clean to be a 1987. Miles are unknown, drives looks worn out, and it used to have a sleeper. I just need a bigger farm truck for grain, maybe put 5000 miles on it a year. Is there a 350 big cam? I thought all the big cams were 400s.

I think a 48" flat top would look bangin on that thing.

Is there anyone on here that lives around there, or that has heard of the outfit that has it posted? I would pay 4500 cash, tell me if that is crazy or not.

Thanks in advance,
Rob

I have no idea about this particular truck but...
Manders is where trucks go to die in the Midwest, from time to time they resale whole trucks for parts. But I would say it would take a ton of time money and parts to make her road worthy again. Good luck with your search, I bet there are plenty of trucks you could by from that era that are currently in working condition that could be bought close to that dollar amount.

Thanks man, I wanted to get a local opinion before pulling the trigger. I'll keep looking.

Those oshkosh's just look so badass! Did you see the picture of the water truck I posted a few pages back? It's got ag tires on it and makes it look sweet

Yeah that is a bad truck. We've sold a few of these to farmers for water trucks, chit knifers, log haulers, etc...

I'd love to have one of those Oshkosh's

They are relatively cheap but they have such a limited use it is hard to justify buying them. Sure you COULD make them into a dump truck but they would suck so bad and it would cost so much.

I couldn't tell if you were describing the OshKosh or every S Series international truck made up until 2001. Flat glass, flat dash, crap seats, no power....you can get more creature comforts on a lawnmower.:hehe:

these old trucks are really awesome .. I nearly bought a International Tras-star 400 .. 68 ? I think .. 8v71 10/4 , Sounded awesome ..

I am not a trucker but I do have a small tractor that I am fixing up.

Cool project man. I've wanted to put a B model Mack or a KW W900a on a chassis with a steer and single axle. The put a 5.9 and a spicer 6 speed in it, use it as a pickup.

Spotted this a couple of years ago at the port of Bari, Italy. Iranians have used Macks since 50s but they also have other US trucks.
