Young gun's 94 build thread

So far my timing is holding with those couple extra steps. I'm gonna grab my new lock washer when I return to Orem. I also need to build a 5" leak tester so I can track down which intercooler boot is making noise. Even at 30psi staying under half throttle this thing just wants to rip!! So hard to not smash the throttle and feel all the horsepowers!!! Haha I'm just very happy to be driving it again.

Why are not ripping on it hard? Seat those rings man. Run it hard

Gotta re torque the head studs first. I also don't want to slip time right before I take this thing on a trip back to Orem.

Man I beat engines as hard as possible after I check for leaks and make sure all pressures are correct. But I understand. Sounds like with a 13mm you need a adjustable gear

Found my comp cuts in my tool box yesterday! ill throw those in tomorrow and see what this 13mm can really do. Its already freaking nuts on the street, spool is awesome with the 13mm, nice crisp crackle from the motor. just plain awesome! I also got my Dakota Digital SGI-5 box to get my speedometer back, for now Im going to focus on getting the dash cluster to work, as of now the only gauges working are the voltage gauge and the RPM LOL

Stock on the left Will Terry's comp cuts on the right. Shiny!

These just made this thing even more stupid!! Plate in the pump is all the way back and I'm struggling for traction. Truck runs amazing... I'm gonna get it on the dyno next week, debating if I should hook up one of the bigger solenoids, bolt the 1.10ar housing on and let it rip.

Probably better to keep a moderate or bigger DV in there, someone knowledgeable told me the issue with the cams getting beat out isn't from small holders or lines but rather small DV's and injectors. I might have to hit up that pump shop some day. Definitely put the 1.10 housing on for the dyno!

This thing has no trouble spooling at elevation anymore, I was just out playing with some 4x4 launches, and 10psi boost in about 5 seconds is easy, 20psi comes just a few seconds after that. Loving this 13mm!!! My old 12mm couldn't get on top of the 75 in 20 seconds with the same converter.

So for the dyno, I think I'm going to leave the small .093 shot and add the big .125 on top of that running off the same bottle with the 1.10. Hopefully with the 1.10 I don't over speed too badly, no external gate, I may chicken out and run the small shot alone.

I'd try and fab a gate. I'd be scared of overspending but that's just me.

Dang, that is some impressive feed back on a 13mm. Makes me really want one.

I keep forgetting I really upped the ante with the 200/220 cam so that definitely helps spool as well.

So, some of your thoughts here compd, I picked up my hx82 because the trade for the 483 wasn't quite working out. Do you all think I should just fab the piping up and throw it on? The problem I have with that, is the head is stock, and the inter cooler is stock. Two huge bottle necks... Is it still worth trying?

Stock have both done over 1000hp. Why not?

The spool is really that much better? I have debated between the 188 and the 200 myself
