There was talk about a back to back test on a dyno between #2 and HPR, but nothing yet about any homebrew or Synthetic Race Fuel.

Does anyone know what kind of gains can be with Synthetic v/s stock?

I'm in the dark ages. Last I heard good 'ol #2 with some cetane additive was still the best.

If I am incorrect, where do I get me some of these synthetics???

I ran the syndiesel for two seasons. I didn't see any improvement on the dyno over straight #2. I did feel that it spooled better and had less smoke output while spooling and launching. The improvement was not enough for me to jump through hoops to get the stuff nor the price. I went back to straight #2 and some additive and don't miss it at all.

Local guy got in contact with me about running some diesel race fuel fuel with higher cetane levels. I wasn't really set up to run it but I pointed him towards Banean woosley and I think he ran it some. Not sure on any results from it though.

That would be an insignificant improvement. There was a description of the improvement per color but I guess it got cut off.

Everything in the green is really good, blue is good, white is little to no gain, and the lower end may actually cause damage.


high frequency reciprocating rig (HFRR) Is a lubricity test btw. Being a cr powered build I'm skeptical on running scheid or Haisley fuel or any volatile additives to super boost cetane since they suggest running lube additives at double strength.

Les from silver bullet was playing with the throttle. Cole was having flashbacks from his pulling and racing days.
 
Where'd you get the bellhousing shield? Been thinking about either doing a trans blanket or shield for mine. Kinda want to keep my feet if it ever blows apart some day.

You need both for 9.99 and quicker if i'm not mistaken. Bellhousing shield and trans blanket. Also supposed to have an engine diaper. I got the shield from summit.

I'm happy to see they actually make a SFI rated shield now. Going to age myself a bunch and say there was nothing available when I did my last build.

Same bellhousing as a 727. Those SFI plates have been out for years have they not?
