99 FL60 mutt/conversion/repower project build

Throttle lock scares me. What happens if you need to get it off in a hurry? Much easier to just push a button or tap the brakes...
Push the red button complete release..

Yep i posted on second or third page I think.. haven't done it yet because I don't need it to go down the road..

How well does that work, as far as engine load changes? If you lock it at 1800 does it stay pretty close to 1800 as load increases, or decreases?

No. It simply holds the throttle in one spot.

What Rick said.. while you can give it more throttle... By pushing the pedal.. it doesn't change to load conditions like up down hills

4 fillups so far... 1-3 tanks at low 8mpg, #4 at low/mid 10mpg.. kinda baffled by that see how it plays out..
Measured the frame hieghts over axle.. front 36" rear 33" going to have to fix that
Second load picked up/Delivered

Are you taking the wind into consideration, Adam? That truck is a lot less "sleek" than your old truck was.

Goiing out low 8 mpg came back empty 1 tank was low 8 like loaded mpg, 2nd was 10mpg and empty no clue why. Rolled ~70mpg both ways

Never had mpg jump like that

Sooo.... hows the ride compared to the little truck?

Well he isn't b1tching about it. lol

Ride alot better I get this ~4" lift out of the front end!! Probably fix dam bump steer too! And allow me to put new shocks on the front!
Other than that..
Ride is substantually better that the little Truck.. only shocks left to replace is the front axle... Unless you call the shocks in the air ride seat a service item too... Usually ride with seat all the way down and no air in it.
Especially when loaded.

For MD truck with 150" WB it rides fairly nice for having 31k worth of tires on it lol
HP/grade speed still under the dmax at a given weight had to think about pulling 5% @31k (10k on deck) and had to watch egt gauge.. pull doing so at or near 100% throttle.. I want HP lefter over pulling grades...
It will be a chore with 20k on deck in current HP level...

4gsk
Timing increase
Possibly DV swap
S463/83 swap
8mpg and 80 usuable gallons out of dual 55g tanks sucks ass..

Nice to cruise at 75-80mph without screaming the engine which is 1700-1800rpm

So what you are saying is you are ready for a big truck with a detroit in it... :poke: :lolly:

The S463 has a similar power potential to what you already have in stock form. They are simply a replacement for the 11.1 detroit turbochargers. Not a real high performance unit out of the box.

I'm guessing thats because of where the draw is out of the tank?

Need to get some round new style Freightliner tanks on there. The draw tube lays on the bottom 3rd of the tank. Would look pretty cool with round aluminum tanks, too.

:hehe::hehe::hehe::hehe::hehe::hehe:

That will never happen....
Just sayin'

Serously, though, sounds like not bad for a first trip.
Chris
Yeah it will....

So a 463 is on par with a H1C ?!? That's what is stock

Possibly... Think if I'm floating the intake valves via boost ... And I have an adjustable waste gate... I'm gonna back the gate off see what happens...
Prefer stand pipe though.. get more out of the tank
