Should be up and running tomorrow... Found out I cracked at least one injector return line :doh:

well trucks up and running... I'm not sure exactly why but it cranks longer than before, before it fires.... ran for 30 minutes air "should be out" of the fuel system....

run up to fenton MI tomorrow then back to dayton
 
Feel any stronger with the injectors?

lol ~500 mile round trip tomorrow..

definitely "snappier"... EGTs are still going to be an issue until I get a bigger turbo on it

starts better now.. probably till had some air in the inj lines...
 
And the CAC is rotted out... Found ~6 1/8" holes or smaller in the front side of it... Gues replacing it just got bump up on the too do list
 
Suppose that could have a effect on your temps. Wonder if it will show an increase in boost pressure as well when fixed, cause more boost better right?!

If it's been leaking it wasn't big enough to see a difference in boost or be able to hear it... Actually heard a pop sound when it let go..

Would not surprise me if temps drop with new CAC...
I'm sure CAC tech has improved over the last 24 years since this one was made...

As for boost/temps running empty
5-10# drop
EGTs up ~100-150°

Holly on the front... Kinda expecting to find bigger hole on the back.. still holding coolant so that's good

I don’t usually buy into marketing hype but my truck had a bar/plate OEM replacement CAC when I got it. Ordered the best cooler Duralite makes and it made a huge difference.
 
The one I ordered is advertised with following... I'm sure any middle of the road CAC will be better than the current... Gets in Wednesday... We'll see

Just called duralite... CAC is ~540+110 in shipping...
Have you used their radiators?
 
Been thinking of all options that could cause a boost leak.....
Little late to cancel the CAC....
Ttis was a PITA to get out of the old head.. should have glued it some how
