Truckers, lets see your rigs!

Anyone know what the big numbers were from the big 3 today in PA?

I did see 2 Detroit's in the high 1400s. I don’t think there were any other real standouts.

Faulkner’s truck did 1164 but aborted run because it started shaking.

One guy ran in OD with 3.08 rears, claimed it was by accident but who puts a non X shift cover on a RTLO series 18 on purpose? Guess wheels speed was 150mph or better and Antrim’s let him keep the run.

Doodle proved a long time ago that wheel speed affects readings.

I'm guessing Leon Smith was one of the detroits? He said he was going back to compounds.

Leon Smith put down 1496.

Friends Dad was asleep in his truck and Leon said he was going to wake him up, did this 4 times right in front of his truck before he crawled out. Lol https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z0bnh8Cdziw

Thought he was runnin flex air?

Yea flex air, 70psi in the tires and neither mine or Jackie Lewis could hook up. Going to strap over the frame next time. Both were hopping bad, he was afraid it was going to chuck a rear end and gave up on the 2nd attempt. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WAW9Pv0qrUs

Did that 3406b with a c18 crank Faulkner built Dyno?

That got put on hold, he put an electric C18 in his 359 and might put the B in a W9. He drove mine and finally saw the electric light.

LOL man he did such a nice job on that truck! Has such a unique sound too.

Poly or rubber bushings? In the car world rubber bushings are notorious for wheel hop on certain suspensions.

Wouldnt happen on a euro dyno with your 500hp truck

I doubt it’s that high on the gold standard euro dyno.

Ok to prove the single vs compound turbo argument in the real world again, my truck and friends are almost identical except for compression ratio. Both 3.55, 18spd 24.5lp. Engines are identical except his is 14:1 and mine is 16.5:1 which in this case doesn’t help the argument FOR singles and HP. His ran exactly 1100hp with a single HX82 and mine did 1138 last year with compounds. Mine will begin making boost at 1200rpm, his won’t begin to make boost below 1600rpm. (Barely makes 5psi with the jake so it’s more worthless than mine that makes 10psi) We’re looking for a smaller housing for him to try before he puts the compounds back on but there is a chance it will boost to the moon or surge. Guys that don’t actually need work their 1k+ HP trucks love singles, but I haven’t ran across any of these working unicorns in the wild. It might work in states that are so flat you can watch your dog run away for 2 days.

Oh and Leiffi we didn’t see a single Volvo or any euro engine there so maybe next year?

What does kw call flex air? Ag380?

Didnt your cousin kurt tell you how compounds make too much backpressure? LOL

Yes, mine has 30k Hendrickson bags under it instead of the OEM bags but still hopped, same with Pete behind me.

Does it give any issues on the street? I know air trac can get hoppin but the springs are over the axle. Thats about the only think i liked about 8 bag was it never hopped, or had axle wrap issues. Neway was always good too. Never had one with 1k+ bald eagles though either

No, no street issues. The suspension is the only part on the truck I didn’t like but thought I would try it. Swapping bags dropped the air pressure required to lift loads like a rock. If it gives me much trouble it’s getting Primaax.

Lol and gauges prove that’s BS.

What kind of back pressure do your compounds have?

Here is friends C15 with S480 on manifold with 4.1 HX82 atmosphere, Just ran 1183hp this weekend. Pressures measured at exhaust manifold and intake manifold, have video of pressures measured in between the turbos also I may upload if I have time. Red is total boost and Black is drive pressure. Video stops when rpm is maxed out at 2000 rpm. Truck was pulling a Landoll RGN with a concrete truck on it grossing about 85,000.

Now remember the internet mechanics that have have zero actual experience all say “compounds have huge drive pressures” which is probably true if you have no idea what parts to use.
