1/2 Ton 24v Swap/build

Cool build. Although I was sad to see a P-pumped 24v 2wd dually sacrificed. But I am biased.

Dont worry, its being put to good use. I sold it to a friend who is putting a stockish 12v/nv4500 in it to pull with. I was too much truck for what I was wanting to do.

Been working on a few different projects lately including a friends viper (which we jokingly say shares parts with my truck).

Its pretty far from stock.

Anyways, I should be back working on the truck this week some, and try to knock out a good bit of it this weekend. Thanks for the love so far.

Where are you from in Alabama? I live north of Birmingham

Time for an update.

Installed the manual pedals finally after USPS lost my first set.

Decided to re use the factory fuel bucket for now so the guage still works until I can figure out a cluster. Its a returnless system so I added a -6 fitting. The factory 5/16 feed will serve as the return from the engine, then a 3/8" line will be added for the return from the AirDog. They will come together at a T close to the tank then into the bulkhead on the bucket assembly. I also modified the bottom of the bucket.

I ended up having to make an AirDog mount for the 1/2T. I'm happy with how it sits but I will probably add a mini skid plate to protect the filters. It barely fit between the tank, and the trans mount. The back plate is held on by the Ebrake cable mount.

Throttle rod was a little long so I made this temporary (possibly permanent) plate to add some travel.

You're missing a piece on the linkage.

Thanks. It actually looks like I got lucky and put the rod mount in roughly the same location, but a stock one would probably be better.

Its a 12mm pump that was modified by Scheid. Im not sure whats done internally , other than full cut DVs, and their adjustable fuel plate. Flows 500cc. Ive got the build sheet.

I bought it from a guy on here or on one of the FB groups. He put a couple hooks on it, and then upgraded to a 13mm. I think I paid around 850-900 for it. Its been a year since I did that. I ran it in the 1T truck for a while.

Oh I gotcha. I've got a '68 d200 in the shop that I'm savin up to do 12valve swap in. Just still gettin ideas together. Later on when the money gets right it's probably either gettin a 6.4 or 6.7 but for now it's hard enough to scrape up enough for a used 12valve haha

I may have the pieces you need.

EDIT: Nope, just checked.

Thanks for looking.

Going to get the remaining fuel system components I need today hopefully. More 1/2" line, a ball valve, and a few fittings.

Another issue Ive run into is the 1/2t brake lines are 7/16" inverted flare and the hydroboost master are 12x1.0 for the front and 10x1.0 for the rear. Im going to run an adjustable prop valve for the rears but I still need to convert the lines to metric and standard flare. Hopefully my local fittings store can get it taken care of.

I laughed when I saw "longest cam ever." thought you would appreciate this. That's a scoop shovel in the side for reference.

More Viper goodness. Picked this up about 2 weeks ago. Working on my buddies blue one gave me the fever.

Back to the truck. Got the driveshaft made, brake lines sorted over the weekend. Since the MC is metric and the factory lines on the truck are standard, I converted everything to -4 and did away with the factory prop valve and "rear abs." Running a wilwood prop valve and stainless line.

The only thing holding me up at this point are the two high pressure lines that come directly out of the hydroboost unit. Im missing the two hard lines that connect to the high pressure soft lines. Dealership only sells them with a new hydroboost unit and I cant find them for sale anywhere. May resort to having some made. Anyone parting out a truck with a hydroboost?!

Nice to see more trucks around Alabama! Keep up the good work!
