1186hp Dyno on a VP44

I had my truck on the dyno after installing a custom multi-stage nitrous setup that I put together. Could not get the dyno to read the torque though:bang. First run was on fuel only, then spraying the s*** out of it.:nos:

What's with dyno operators printing the graphs with speed all the time? RPM seems like it would be a lot more informative.
 
For the VP44 world this has to be crazy! even without the big spike which isn't all that spiky, the truck is still over 1000 for most of the run....this has to be a new record, right?

If you don't have rpm reading there is no way to plot the hp over the engine rpm. And also, without an rpm reading the dynojet software can not calculate tq either. It can however measure the hp and graph it over the speed of the drums.

The header on the dyno graph shows they specialize in modular fords... so my guess is they didn't have the optical pickup that gets used with the diesels.

Greg, just my guess again, but like i mentioned above, the dyno shop seems to specialize in gas engines. For normally aspirated or supercharged vehicles it is the standard to run them in 1:1.
 
this is a good laugh for me lol. highest hp VP out there so far was Winslett at a solid 902 with a spike to 990. hard to believe that truck went 1189 lol. thats just funny right there lol. expecially with no back up. dyno graph does not look reall and with no info on whats done to the truck and with a claim like that i would have to see a video lol. i dont buy it.

Mods to the truck include: F1 valve springs, Helix 2 cam, Arp studs, o-ringed and ported head, Edge Drag Comp, FASS 150/150, SPS 66, Mach 7.5 injectors, single 7" black stack and a couple of other things I wanted to try that will remain a secret. As for the nitrous its enough to power a small space shuttle
 
just seems false to me unless you have a video of the dyno run that also gets a shot of the screen to show the 1186 run. i am saying its false. are you running and external wastegate? lets fass it, the highest hp single of that size i belive was red stroke or stroke this and did 1111 and it blew, mind you thats nitrous and a 12v that has the fuel to push that kind of numbers. as far as your run, kinda hard for me to believe a VP just came out of the wood works and did that number since i have a high hp VP truck and no what mods i have had done and what numbers i had with the nitrous and such. i claim bs.

i will eat crow and sencerely appologize if you prove me wrong but till then, its a fake.
 
i'm a little scepitical since it's very sudden with no other high hp runs out of this truck... especially for a single turbo VP to run that it's too impressive to just "believe it" if you know what i mean

i agree with you totally . thats why i called bs. no back up proof other than a dyno sheet that dont look real. many people have tried that setup of his and gotten around 800hp and all of a sudden he tries a couple of things he wants to keep a secret and it hits almost 400 hp higher than the others that have tried that setup. i dont buy it. i mean if hes got a monster pump, why would you want to keep it a secret lol. i would want to prove all the nay sayers wrong but it must be that super super secret squirrel stuff.
 
Ok, Im not a VP truck specialist my any means, but that sure seems like a pretty mild list of mods to make 1186. I dont care how much you spray it. It just doesnt add up man, why havent we seen any other high HP runs from you? The odds of your first dyno run making 1186 are SLIM. Like inline6power, Ill apologize as well, but I aint buyin it.

absolutly. the highest hp VP i have ever heard of was Damien Reese from the old diesel power challenge. said he had 934hp . even though everyone said that dyno was notorious for HIGH numbers, he had a 2 stage nitrous kit and ran open lines, NO JETS and your saying you had 1186hp with 7.5? i dont believe it one minute. jetpilot did the 832 with Mach 8s and nitrous and a 66 turbo.

Adam (redstroke) did run 1111hp and it did not blow, it scattered the SB66 a month later at the drag strip.

Adam....His truck was set up different from when it made the 902 and 990. I know it has 10s in it and it is going to make some good power this weekend.

What are the details on this truck
