In reality, the diesel engine has a combustion pressure spike higher than any Top Fuel engine. The Top fuel engine has 325 bar peak pressure or 4800 psi The Top Alcohol engine is a few thousand higher than that. But the diesel is king of peak cylinder pressure.
The reason that a fuel motor makes incredible power is that it makes cylinder pressure until the exhaust valve is open.
So Wade when did you get access to a cylinder pressure data logger.
As to $10,000 for a head, that wouldn’t get you far in any heads up class a pair of DRCE3 Pro Stock heads are about $40,000. if you going to get competitive with any engine program, the head is the most important part . I see Cummins heads that are close to $7,500 as commons if you want the best from a stock casting , with a competitive manifold.
As to a billet aluminum head on a 12 valve ,it’s legality in classes is such that its wide open, and why even make it look like a stock head . if you going to do a CNC head and go to the trouble it would be a lot wilder , and flow 450 to 500 cfm on a 4.250 bore
I mean if you going to go long, go for the in zone , if you are going to build a head that isn’t legal for but a few classes , and the rules in those classes only limit it to 2 valves , it would, no more expensive.
Also that head can be bought now at INDY cylinder heads
